Introduction and Objectives for This Blog

Hi! I'm Tim Smith. I'm a 64 year old U. S. Air Force veteran and collect music (mainly vinyl) and read books. I'm disabled and can't work because of my disability, so I spend my days mainly reading and listening to music.

I live in Rockford, Illinois which has the hometown of the rock band Cheap Trick. I have an eclectic taste in music of many genres. These mainly consist of pop, rock, disco, classic country mainly from the 1950's thru the 1990's so yes, I do have some of Cheap Tricks albums in my collection. At the time I wrote this post I was listening to the album "...Twice Shy" by Great White.

For books I read mainly mysteries and thrillers, but I do read several other genres. The books are some that been out for a while. The books I'm currently reading are: Deep Cover Bast-Off by Lionel Derrick which is volume 44 in the Penetraitor series. I.m also reading The Marble Faun by Nathaniel Hawthorne, In Search of the Castaways or, The Children of Captain Grant by Jules Verne, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, and Eisenhower: At War 1943 - 1945 by David Eisenhower which is a biography of his grandfather during World War II. The last two I am taking my time at reading because of the length of those books.

My main objective is to write a a post at somewhat normal basis about what I'm reading and listening to. I'm a reader that needs some background noise and my records and compact discs make good background noise. I'll write about what I'm listening to or maybe about something I hear about books or music, sometimes it might be about a memory about a concert that a went to. Sometimes it might just be a rant.

Well, I think I've wrote enough for this post so until next time take it easy and keep on rockin' (or reading).
